This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Spendlove of Crow Trees Farm Shottle
in the county of Derby, Farmer, made this sixth day of April one thousand eight hundred
and ninety five. I appoint my friend John Hodgkinson of Holly Seat Farm in Shottle
aforesaid and my sons Thomas and George to be Executors and Trustees hereof. I bequeath
to them all my personal estate Upon trust to sell my live and dead farming stock goods
and chattels by public auction as soon as convenient after my decease and get in my
other personal estate and stand possessed of the monies and proceeds arising therefrom
Upon Trust (after payment of my just debts funeral and testementary expenses) to pay
thereout the following legacies.
Namely to my daughter Lucy eighty pounds to my son Thomas and to my son George forty pounds and then to pay the remainder equally between my children William, Ann, George, Thomas and Lucy for their own absolute use. I devise any real estate I might be entitled to at the time of my decease and bequeath the residue of my personal estate unto and equally between my said five children absolutely. I devise all estates vested in me as trustee or mortgage unto my said Trustees unpon the same
trusts and subject to the same equities as I hold the same. I declare that such Trustee of this my will shall be answerable to his own acts and defaults only and not for those of any cotrustee nor for any loss unless the same shall be caused by his own wilful act or default and Trustees may reimburse themselves out of the trust premises all costs and expenses incured by them in or about the execution of the Trusts of this my will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year first herein written.
Signed by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our hands as witnesses.

On the 9th day of November 1897 Probate of this will was granted at Derby
to John Hodgkinson,Thomas Spendlove and George Spendlove the Executors
