WILL OF THOMAS SPENDLOVE OF RADBOURN DERBYSHIRE
DATED 20TH AUGUST 1774.PROBATE GRANTED DERBY 28 APRIL 1775
COPIED FROM ORIGINAL IN LICHFIELD JOINT RECORDS OFFICE


In the name of God Amen I Thomas Spendlove of Radbourn in the county of Derby Husbandsman being of sound and perfect mind and memory (God be praised) Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament and do dispose of such temporal Estate as it pleased God to bless me with in manner and form following (that is to say) First my Mind and Will is that all my just Debts and Funeral expenses shall be fully paid and satisfied.Also at my decease I nominate and Appoint Richard Statham of Shottle and Thomas Robinson of Clifton to Appraise and value my Stock,Also I give and Bequeath to my Grand-Daughter Dorothy Hudson the sum of Forty pounds.But if my said Grand-Daughter Dorothy Hudson should happen to marry again then my Mind and Will is that the Forty pounds aforesaid shall go and be paid to her two children Ann and Mary Hudson Share and Share alike Also I give and Bequeath to my Grand -Daughter Elizabeth Eyre an equal Share with the rest of my Grand-Children together with Twenty pounds more.Also the Bed that stands in the Best Chamber under the Window.Also I give and Bequeath to my Grand-son Thomas Eyre the sum of Five pounds. Also I give and Bequeath to Samuel Eyre,William Eyre,Timothy Eyre,Sarah Eyre and Susanna Eyre the remainder of my Grand-Children all the Remainder of my Money to be equally parted and divided among them Share and Share alike.Also my Mind and Will is that if my Daughter Dorothy Eyre shall remain a Widow untill Death then I give and Bequeath unto her all my Money and Effects and personal Estate of what kind soever(then this Will to be void) and she to dispose of all my Effects amongst all her Children as she shall think most proper,But if my said Daughter Dorothy Eyre shall happen to marry again then my mind and Will is that the above Legacies shall become payable upon the Day of her Marriage.Also I nominate constitute and appoint Jarvis Spendlove of Shottle George Peat and Timothy Greenwood Executors of this my last Will and Testament.And I do hereby revoke all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made.In Witness whereof I have set my Hand and Seal to this my last Will and Testament the twentieth day of August in the Year of our Lord God one thousand seven Hundered and seventy four.
