The Last Will And Testament of Robert Spendlove of Shottle

This is the last Will and Testament of Robert Spendlove of Shottle in the County of Derby Yeoman in manner and form following that is to say In the first place I direct all my just debts and funeral expenses and the chargesof proving my Willto be paid and satisfied by my executors hereinafter named as soon as convieiently may be after my decease and subject thereto I give and bequeath the use fair wear interest profits and produce of all and every my household Goods and Furniture plate linin and china and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever unto my Wife Hannah Spendlove for and during the term of her natural life or until her second marriage and from and after the decease or second marriage of my said wife which shall first happen I give and bequeath the said Personal estate and effects unto my only Daughter Mary and all other my Child or children who shall be living at my decease or to be born in due time afterwards,if more than one equally share and share alike and to their several and respective executors and adminisrators.And I do nominate and appoint my Brother in law German Dean and my friend Joseph Malin of Shottle aforesaid Farmer joint executors of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all other will or wills by me at any time heretofore made ,In witness whereof I the said Testator Robert Spendlove have to this my last Will and Tesament set my hand and seal this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundered and thirty six . signed Robert Spendlove (seal)

On the twenty fourth day of November 1863 Administration with the Will annexed ,of the personal estate and effects of Robert Spendlove late of Shottle in the County of Derby Yeoman deceased was granted to Mary Heathcote (wife of John Heathcote Farmer)the only child of the said deceased the Residuary Legatee named in the said Will ,she having been first sworn duly to administer.German Dean and John Malin the executors and Hannah Spendlove wife of the said deceased the Residuary Legatee for life named in the said Will having repectively died in the lifetime of the said deceased.

Addition information on grant of administration gives Mary's residence as Carsington and William Argile of Weston Underwood and William Peat of Ashleyhay both Farmers as Sureties (Argile may have been relative by marriage he married Ann Spendlove daughter of Gervase Spendlove)

Robert Died on the Seventh day of May 1863 at Shottle.
