WILL OF JOB SPENDLOVE OF MATLOCK DERBYSHIRE

This is the last Will and Testament of me Job Spendlove of No2 Brook Villas, Church Street, Matlock in the County of Derby retired innkeeper and Farmer. I revoke all former Wills. I appoint Job Spendlove of Tarporley Cheshire Railway Clerk and Richard Taylor of Malpas Road, Matlock aforesaid Clerk (hereinafter called "my trustees" ) to be the Executors and Trustees of this my Will. I give to the use and enjoyment of my household furnature and effects to my wife Agnes Spendlove during her life and from and after her death I Give the same unto my daughter Mary Cutts Evans for her own use and benefit absolutely. I direct my trustees to pay my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses out of my personal estate and if my personal estate shall not be sufficient for this purpose then I direct my trustees to sell my two fields of land situate adjoining Johnson Row on the South West of Tansley Road containing four acres or thereabouts and out of the proceeds thereof pay the remainder of my debts and funeral expenses. I Devise and Bequeath the residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustees Upon Trust to pay the income thereof to my said wife Agnes Spendlove during her life and from and after her death devise and bequeath my Farm-house outbuildings and closes of land known as Yew Tree Farm, Matlock Cliff containing some sixteen acres or thereabouts ( but not including the before mentioned two fields of land if unsold ) unto and equally between my said daughter Mary Cutts Evans of the Horse Shoe Hotel Matlock widow and my daughter in law Ada Spendlove of Yew Tree Farm Matlock aforesaid Widow subject to any mortgage or charge ther may be on the same at the time of my death. I Devise and Bequeath the residue of my real and personal estate including the two fields before mentioned if unsold unto my said daughter Mary Cutts Evans for her own use and benifit absolutely. I declare that my trustees shall have the fullest power and discetion to postpone the sale calling in and conversion of any part of my estate for such period as my Trustees shall think proper and to retain any parts or parts of my estate in the form or state of investment in which the same shall be at the time of my death without responsibility for any loss that may arise therefrom.In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirty first day of October one thousand nine hundered and twenty eight
