The Will of George Spendlove of Shottle Derbyshire Dated 13th April 1740
Probate granted Derby 14th April 1741
In the Name of God Amen April the thirteenth day one thousand seaven
hundred and Fourty I George Spendlove ofShottle in the parish of Doefield
(Duffield)in the county of Derby being in a sick and weak estate as to
bodily health yet of perfect minde and memory for which I Bless God Do
make and Ordain this My Last Will and testament in Manner and Form Following.That
is to Say First and principally I comend my Soul into the hands of Almighty
God hopeing in and thro,Jesus Christ to Recieve a Full and Free pardon
For all my Sins and Justification to Eternal Life and my Body to the Earth
to be Decently buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named
and as touching such Wordly Goods as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless
with in this Life I Give Devise and Dispose as Followeth
I Give and bequeath unto my brother Thomas Spendlove the sum of Five
pounds to be paid to him at the end of a year after my Desease.
I Give and bequeath unto my brother Anthony Spendlove the sum of Five
pounds to be paid to him at the end of twelve months after my desease.
I Give and bequeath unto my sister Lucey the Wife of James Dunnel the
sum of Five pounds to be paid to her at the end of a year after my deseace.
I give unto my Sister Mary Spendlove the sum of seaven pounds to be
paid to her at the discrestion of my Executor hereafter named.
All the Rest of my effects tenements Cattle and Chattles I doe Give
unto my brother Robert Spendlove and Doe Make him Ful and Sole Executor
of this My Last Will and testament paying all my Debts Legacies and do
make Void all & every Former testament by me at any time heretofore
Made as Wil Witness hereunto I set my hand and Seal the Day & year
