WILL OF ELIZABETH SPENDLOVE OF SHOTTLE DERBYSHIRE

PROBATE GRANTED DERBY 15TH APRIL 1800
TRANSCRIBED FROM ORIGINAL IN LICHFIELD JOINT RECORDS OFFICE
In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth Spendlove of Shottle in the county of Derby do make this my last Will and Tesament in manner and form following that is to say First I do order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expences shall be fully paid and discharged as soon as conveiniently may be after my decease. I give and bequeath to William Needham of Belper One hundered pounds. I give to Elizabeth Walker daughter of my late brother Samuel Statham Fifty pounds I give to Thomas Slater of Shottle Fifty pounds I give to Joshua Statham Twenty pounds I give to Hannah Hawkins daughter of my late Brother Richard Statham Twenty pounds. I give to Richard Statham son of my late Brother Richard Statham Twenty pounds. All these resective Legacies by me here before bequeathed I direct shall be paid to the respective Legatees at the end of Twelve months after my decease. All the rest of my money if there be any left I give to my Executor hereinafter named and it is my will that my Executor shall not be accountable for any loss in recovering the money out upon securities but if there be any loss it should be beared amongst the resective Legatees according to their proportanate shares. And Lastly I do appoint William Needham of Shire Oaks in Belper sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this nineth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred

At Derby 15th April 1800 Let a Probate of this will be granted to William Needham the sole Executor.
