This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Edwin Spendlove Engine Room Artificer of at present aboard HMS "Duke of Edinburgh" in the county of made this seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and sixteen I hereby revoke all wills made by me heretofore. I appoint my father and mother to be my Executors and direct that all my debts and funeral expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my sisters Florence Margorie and Beatrice Elizabeth the sum of 10 (Ten pounds) each.To my mother my silver wolf, gold signet ring, silver cigarette case and match case all medals and cups together with one half share of the residue of my estate, as to the remainder to my father, each and every legacy absolutely and unconditionally.

Signed by the said Testator in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

On the 4th day of June 1920 Probate of this Will was granted at Derby to Charles Spendlove and Kate Edith Florence Spendlove the Executors.

Note:- The above ship HMS Duke of Edinburgh was part of the 1st Cruiser Squadron which sailed on the 30th May 1916 from ?
The Battle of Jutland began on the 31st May 1916. Was this ship damaged in this battle ?
Was Charles injured in this battle ?.He was only 25 when he died.
