AS COPIED FROM ORIGINAL WILL LOCATED IN LICHFIELD JOINT RECORDS OFFICE


In the name of God Amen. I Anthony Spendlove of the Parish of Dalbury in the County of Derby Cordwainer being of health of body and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, praised be God for the same. Do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
First I give devise and bequeath to my Nephew Anthony Spendlove ,labourer, second son of my Brother John Spendlove of Dalbury Lees labourer, all my Messuages, Lands, Hereditments and premises with all the appurtenances thereto belonging whereof I am now possesed, situate and lying and being in Dalbury Leese in the Parish of Dalbury aforesaid and now in my cupation, subject to the payment of the sum of Twenty Shillings Anually as left charged by George Drikinson on the same premises, by his Last Will and Testament bearing date 2nd day of June 1638 to nine poor Inhabitants of Dalbury Leese aforesaid and likewise subject to the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses to have and to hold all and every the said lands and Tenaments situate as aforesaid to him the said Anthony Spendlove his heirs and assigns forever. Item I give and bequeath to John Spendlove eldest son of my aforesaid Nephew Anthony Spendlove the feather bed I now use in the parlour with all the Furniture and appurtinances thereto belonging, likewise one Oak Chest and Drawers standing in the same room to be delivered to him in good order when he attains the age of Twenty Years. Lastly I give and bequeath to my aforesaid Nephew Anthony Spendlove all the residue of my personal Estate of what nature or kind whatsoever and wheresoever the same shall be found at my death. And I do hereby nominate,constitute and appoint my aforesaid Nephew Anthony Spendlove sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all and every other wWill or Wills at anytime heretofore by me made, and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
In Witness whereof I the said Anthony Spendlove have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and eight.
