In the Name of God Amen I gervase Spendlove of Shottle
in the County of DerbyYeoman being of perfect mind memory and understanding
do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following
that is to say.First I will and direct that my just debts and funeral expences
be fully paid by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as conveniently
may be after my decease.
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Bunting
Twenty pounds Also I give my Daughter Phoebe Street Twenty pounds.I also
give my Daughter Ann Williams Twenty pounds to be paid to them repectively
their Heirs and Assigns at a twelve months after my decease by my Executor
hereinafter named.I give to my Granddaughter Phoebe Spendlove daughter
of my son Robert spendlove an annuity of Thirty pounds a year clear of
all deductions,for the support and maintenance during her natural Life
which said annuity I charge upon and payable out of my Lands at Kniveton
called or known by the name of Kniveton hill in the county of Derby in
the occupation of Thomas Waine,which said annuity I direct my son Robert
Spendlove to have the care of and to see that my said Granddaughter Phebe
Spendlove is provided with every requisite necessary during her natural
life and after her decease I direct that the aforesaid lands called Kniveton
hill shall be sold for the best price that can be obtained and equally
devided among my Grand children Gervase Spendlove,John Spendlove,Robert
Spendlove,Isaac Spendlove and Elnor Spendlove and any other children of
my son Robert Spendlove and Jane his Wife that may hereafter be borne after
my decease Share and Share alike except and I hereby direct that my said
Grand son Gervas Spendlove shall have one hundered pounds more to his share
than any of his Brothers and Sisters that is or may be borne hereafter
and which said sums of mony arising from the sale of the aforesaid Land
shall be paid to my aforesaid Grandchildren their heirs or assigns.I give
and devise all and every my messuages closes Lands Tenements and hereditaments
situate and lying and being at Kniveton and Ashleyhay in the County of
Derby and all other my ral estate whatsoever unto my son Robert Spendlove
his heirs and assigns for ever,and I give all my money and securities for
money and all other my personal Estate whatsoever unto my said son Robert
Spendlove his executors Administrators and Assigns with the payment of
the Annuity to my Grand daughter Phebe Spendlove which I have bequeathed
to her for and during her natural life,And lastly I hereby nominate constitute
and appoint my son Robert Spendlove sole Executor of this my Will hereby
revoking all former wills by me at any time made.
I publish and declare this to to be my last Will and
Testament,In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this twelveth
day of february in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundered and
nine.

was deaf and dumb and was very well provided for ,in 1841 she was living
at Wakebridge farm ,Crich. her brother Gervase's farm,she lived to a good
age and died at her nieces (Ann Argile) Hall close farm Weston Underwood
